The Opportunity:

Enhancing Visitor Experience Beyond Passive Viewing

It all started when Little Canada was seeking a way to enhance visitor engagement beyond passive viewing. While its handcrafted miniature cities are immersive and highly detailed, the overall experience remains largely observational.

The Proposal

We proposed a phygital concept that layers digital interaction with existing hands-on workshop experiences, transforming visitors from just spectators into active co-creators. Beyond building their own miniature landmark inspired by Little Canada, guests can engage with a companion digital platform that extends the experience, capturing their creation, enhancing it through interactive features, and allowing them to revisit and share it beyond their visit.

The result, Mini Maple Makers, blends tactile making with digital storytelling, creating a personalized keepsake that lives both physically and digitally.

Key Features :

  • Themed 60-minute miniature workshop concept

  • Companion digital extension framework

  • Interactive live voting using menti.com

  • Animated digital storytelling visuals using Midjourney

  • Brand identity and experience positioning

  • Scalable model for rotating regional themes

Digital Storytelling

To demonstrate the phygital extension, we used Midjourney to:

  • Generate stylized miniature visuals for every visitor work

  • Create animated scene sequences based on their narrative

  • Showcase how physical builds could transform into dynamic digital storytelling keep-sake moments

From Spectator to Storyteller: Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where strong thinking meets thoughtful execution.

Mini Maple Makers transforms visitors from passive viewers into active participants. By merging hands-on creation with digital extension, the experience deepens emotional connection, increases engagement time, and introduces a scalable model for future themed workshops.

Thank You.
